Southern California Wedding and Portrait photography rooted in real moments and intention

Hey there, I'm Rick and I photograph weddings and portraits across Southern California. My work blends genres ranging from stylized editorial portraits to documentary, photojournalistic moments depending on what the moment calls for.

My process starts with finding the right canvas for the scene: good light, strong composition, and an environment that showcases the moment. Then I place you in it. If needed, I'll guide your posture and pose so you feel and look your best before stepping back and letting things happen naturally. No need to perform or overthink it. Just be present, enjoy the moment, and I'll handle everything else.

I've been shooting professionally since 2018. I'm steady, I pay attention to the details, and I genuinely care about making the whole experience awesome, not just the final photos. My editing style is clean and natural: natural skin tones, true to color, and timeless. I also love black and white photos when the moment calls for it.

About Rick Raasch

I'm Rick, a photographer and videographer based in Long Beach, California. I've been shooting weddings and families across Southern California since 2018.

Growing up as a musician taught me how to listen before I play and support others. Drumming gave me rhythm, feel, a sense of when to lead, when to hang back, and how to support the people around me. And that carries into how I shoot. I've recently gotten into cooking and drink too many cups of coffee every day.

Recently, I became a family man. My wife, our baby, and our dog are the best part of my life and a constant reminder that time doesn't slow down for anyone.

I believe you were made in the image of God, and your story deserves to be told with honesty and care. That's why I do this. Not just to make beautiful photos, but because the people in them matter.
